The Progenitors of the Sound

The beginning of any legacy begins with a strong foundation.

Ours began in 2008 when the high school performance chorus of R.L. Osborne came under the direction of Preston Anderson. He and the chorus worked to quickly raise the expectation of discipline and the level of musicality, successfully. That year, it also became all too clear that the choral culture being established, and the very nature of the group was too...us...to be called the Osborne High Performing Chorus (not too mention the name is a bit long...right?) Thus, it was decided that the experience known as the chorus would begin its legacy under the name of The Sound. We look forward to all that we will do in the future bringing that experience to others.

Here we would like to take time to honor some of the founders of The Sound who have moved on, heading closer to their destinies. Thank you for raising the bar...we will do proud the legacy you helped begin.

Welcome to...The Sound...

We are a unique aural experience. Diversity is our aim. We not only perform gospel, jazz, r&b, and music from the classical canon with professional refinement, but it is also our belief that each individual brings a unique, and much needed, vibe to our chorus. Through music, we enhance our ability to perform as well as reinforce the qualities requisite for success; complementing our intellectual pursuits with the improvement of our souls. It quickly becomes apparent to most who witness The Sound in action that we are a family that is capable of acting as a well oiled machine in work, service, and especially at play. More than music ties us to one another...rather a decisive unification of intellect, talent, and will focused on a single and higher pursuit keeps this voluntary organization vital.
